I take a lot of screenshots these days. Fortunately, I use a really handful shortcut that has saved me probably many hours until now from having to explain something with words to someone else. I hope these quick shortcuts will also be beneficial for you too.

I take a lot of screenshots these days. Fortunately, I use a really handful shortcut that has saved me probably many hours until now from having to explain something with words to someone else. I hope these quick shortcuts will also be beneficial for you too.

The shortcut that I use the most is: Shift-Command-4

After you press these keys, you can take a select a portion of the screen and take a screenshot of that. This capture is then saved in your Desktop with a name like Screen Shot 2019-03-31 at 8.29.48 PM. You can change the place where they are saved by pressing Shift-Command-5 and going to Options.

Now you can import it somewhere, or send it to your colleagues.

There are also other shortcuts like capturing a window, or the entire screen, which you can choose after pressing: Shift-Command-5.

As I said, these can be seen as simple things, but I have seen people who were surprised when they heard that these exist inside your Mac OS and that you can start using them right away, without having to install anything.
