Markdown

Markdown is a lightweight markup language with plain text formatting syntax. It is commonly used to format readme files, and to create rich text using a plain text editor. If you’re unfamiliar with Markdown, check out GitHub’s Mastering Markdown.

If you’ve spent any time writing Markdown, you probably love the simplicity behind it. Simple key strokes can change the formatting of your writing instantly. The problem with Markdown is that unless you’ve memorized all of the shortcuts, there can be a lot of trial and error before you get the exact formatting you’re looking for.

Toast UI Editor

Enter Toast UI Editor, a new, open-sourced, markdown WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor. Toast allows you to create text using markdown and a WYSIWYG editor together. Seamlessly switch between text input methods to create the perfect readme file in half the time.
