AWS AppSync is a fully managed service that allows customers to connect applications to data and events with GraphQL APIs. AppSync allows customers to create APIs that connect to multiple data sources like microservice APIs, relational databases, and NoSQL databases. With AppSync APIs, applications can efficiently fetch data from different sources in one request.

AWS AppSync now offers more metrics to provide more granular visibility into usage and performance. The Enhanced Customer Metrics feature includes new optional metrics that give developers a detailed view of AppSync request and error counts, latency, and cache hits/misses. We’ve also introduced two new cache metrics to help diagnose network/CPU throughput issues.

These metrics empower developers to monitor AppSync API performance at a finer level to quickly diagnose issues. Developers can now enable these metrics to pinpoint bottlenecks in the development cycle. Metrics can be enabled for the full request or on a per-component basis (metrics and monitoring are subject to additional charges).

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where AppSync is available. For more information about the AWS Regions where AppSync is available, see the AWS Region table.

To learn more about this feature, see Monitoring and logging in the AWS AppSync User Guide.
