Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) Custom for Oracle now supports R6i, M6i, and T3 instances. R6i instances are designed for memory-intensive workloads with 8:1 ratio of memory to vCPU. M6i are general purpose compute instances designed to provide a balance of compute, memory, storage, and network resources with 4:1 ratio of memory to vCPU. T3 instances are ideal for database workloads with moderate CPU usage that experience temporary spikes in use.

Amazon EC2 R6i and Amazon EC2 M6i instances, powered by 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, deliver up to 15% better price performance over equivalent R5 and M5 instances. R6i and M6i instances provide a new instance size of 32xlarge with 128 vCPUs and 33% more memory than the largest R5 and M5 instances.

Amazon EC2 T3 instances are the next generation of the Amazon burstable general-purpose instance type that provide a baseline level of CPU performance with the ability to burst CPU usage at any time for as long as required.

Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle is a managed database service for legacy, custom, and packaged applications that require access to the underlying operating system and database environment.
