AWS Thinkbox Deadline 10.3.0.9 is generally available with a DeadlineCommand application plugin, updated support for third-party integrations, and an upgrade to Python 3.10.
A DeadlineCommand application plugin has been added, allowing native DeadlineCommand or Python scripts to be executed with no prior configuration of Deadline or installation of Python. Deadline’s Scripting API can be imported within a Python script for advanced use cases. DeadlineCommand can be used to provide validation of initial Deadline render farm installations.
New updates in third-party integrations include Autodesk Maya 2024, Autodesk 3ds Max 2024, Maxon Cinema 4D 2023, Autodesk VRED 2023, and Adobe After Effects 2023. These updated integrations allow you to use the updated software versions of these content creation applications in conjunction with Deadline. In collaboration with Epic Games, we have introduced a new Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) plugin to integrate and automate Deadline renders from inside the UE Movie Render Queue, allowing customers to streamline the process of connecting AWS Thinkbox Deadline 10.3 and onwards to work originated in UE5.
Deadline 10.3 has upgraded to Python 3.10 as the default for all applications and plugins in order to meet the recommendations of VFX platform CY2023. This upgrade helps to improve performance and software compatibility for Deadline users.
