Converting jQuery to vanilla JavaScript

Over the weekend, I read an article by Ari Stathopoulos about converting some old jQuery code to vanilla JS.

Ari’s article was written back in 2019. A lot has changed with the web platform since then, and there are some things I’d have done differently than Ari.

I’ve started publishing videos each week on YouTube, and yesterday, I put together a walk through of how I would convert Ari’s jQuery to vanilla JS if I were working on this project.

You can download the source code on GitHub.

And if you want to learn how to do stuff like this, my Vanilla JS Essentials workshop is a great way to do it. Today through Monday, get 40% off registration at checkout with the code EARLYBIRD.
