Amazon Lightsail now offers Amazon Lightsail for Research, a new offering that makes it simple for you to accelerate your research using the power of the cloud. Lightsail for Research provides access to analytical applications such as Scilab, RStudio, and Jupyter running on powerful virtual computers in just a few clicks.
With Lightsail for Research, you can now move large data sets and/or time-consuming analysis from your laptop onto virtual computers, run multiple analyses simultaneously, and continue computations even when your laptop is off or being used for other activities. By accessing AWS’s computing power along with pre-installed research software, you can get to work quickly without requiring computer setup, software installation, or technical support to perform those tasks. Additionally, Lightsail for Research offers bundled pricing, making it simple to understand costs before starting your work.
Starting today, you can use Lightsail for Research through the Lightsail Console (accessed from AWS Console), AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), or AWS SDKs in the following regions: US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm).
