Burpee Workout Notes: Count Aloud
These are workout notes - they start from this post
When working out, the workout gets so tough that am running out of breath.
This is especially true of the burpee workout I do. It doesn’t help that most of the time, I ask myself:
What’s next?
The answer is always:
10 Burpees, just like last time.
AUGH.
One thing I noticed after doing the burpee workout every day for a month:
I miscount my burpees, especially 5-8 range.
The first three are fine, and the last three are fine. I notice I miss numbers in the 5-8 range. Did I count six?? Am I at 7 now?? What number should be next??
So, to overcome this “number skipping”, I count aloud. There’s no other way, because I would either skip number or think I skipped a number and do more or fewer burpees than expected.
Conclusion: count aloud when doing a tough workout. Counting aloud might seem silly and it’s only to 10 - but counting will maintain your momentum and help you finish strong.
