Journey to TDD - Re-Entry

As I mentioned before, my programming lineage wasn’t traditional and my professional experience did not set me up for success further.

The way I found out was the hard way.

At the time, I thought I knew everything about software development after working more than half a decade in the industry. I took an opportunity to leave my job to support my wife’s career.

When I decided to re-enter the software industry, I applied the same technique to succeed the first time:

  1. Learn whatever programming language is “kewl”.
  2. Get a job in the software industry.
  3. Profit!

Little did I know, this approach would not work the second time around in the ever changing software industry.
