On June 2021, Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for Oracle has launched the additional configurations of the R5 instance in various regions.

Starting today, you can also now launch additional memory configurations of the R5 instance class in the following AWS Region: Asia Pacific (Jakarta).

To learn more about the available configurations for memory optimized R5 instance types, please refer to the Amazon RDS instance types documentation.

Many Oracle database workloads require high memory, storage and I/O bandwidth but can safely reduce the number of vCPUs without impacting application performance. Providing up to 768 GiB of memory and a 32:1 memory-to-vCPU ratio, the new configurations allow customers to right-size their workloads and save on compute and licensing costs.

Amazon RDS for Oracle makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale Oracle Database deployments in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for Oracle Database Pricing for regional availability.
