Amazon EMR Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) that makes it easy for data scientists and data engineers to develop, visualize, and debug big data and analytics applications written in R, Python, Scala, and PySpark. Today we are excited to announce that data scientists, engineers, and analysts can collaborate in real-time across teams using EMR Studio.

An EMR Studio Workspace provides a fully-managed serverless JupyterLab instance in the cloud. Previously, only one user could use a Workspace at a time. With the latest release, Workspace owners can invite other users and collaborate using notebooks in real-time. When collaboration is enabled, multiple users can open, edit, and see real time edits made by other collaborators in the same notebook. Real-time collaboration enables data scientists, engineers, and analysts to author, debug, or review notebooks in real-time. Workspace owners can toggle real-time collaboration features on or off using a one click toggle.

EMR Studio is available in US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), Europe (Stockholm), Europe (Paris), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo) and South America (Sao Paulo) regions.
