Meetups and Tragedies

A meetup I co-organize had a tragedy. A recent speaker passed away suddenly and we found out through their colleague.

A similar tragedy happened when I organized another meetup previously.

I never signed up for this when I volunteered to be a meetup organizer. I just want to bring like-minded people together.

As much joy helping others with similar interests bring meet, it’s also heart breaking when tragedy happens. I’m partially paralyzed, partially telling myself to move on because they would want us to move on.
