Book: Start with Why

One of the books that has influenced me as a leader is: Simon Sinek’s Start with Why.

This book has changed the way I think about work, even structuring work for others. This book is the main reason for having a “why” section in my sprint stories.

When everyone understands why they are struggling against a problem, they will figure out how to overcome the problem. When there’s a setback or an oversight, a team that knows why will find another way.

Telling a team how to solve a problem only works if telling them every single step for any possible situation. When there’s the slightest setback or any oversight, the team gets stuck and will come back to you.

80/20

If you haven’t read the book, this TED Talk from Simon Sinek is a great way to get started (and probably covers 80% of the content with 20% of the effort.)
