Today, AWS announced that customers can purchase Amazon Machine Image (AMI) and Container products from AWS Marketplace with one, two, or three-year contracts on supported products.
With this launch, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can set upfront payment terms for any custom dimension on their product in AWS Marketplace. Customers have the option to purchase these products immediately from AWS Marketplace using monthly, annual and multi-year contracts. Customers can also upgrade their contract, buy additional licenses, or accept a privately negotiated price on any of the AMI and Container products that supports contract pricing model.
Customers can distribute these licenses to other accounts in their organization using AWS License Manager, giving member accounts more flexibility. The new pricing model allows customers to get better pricing at payment terms that fit with their procurement process. The initial launch includes products from sellers Delphix and Cloud Storage Security.
