We hope you all were able to enjoy our ConnectONLINE virtual event, and tune into the Couchbase Community Customer and Partner Award Winners Keynote on Day Two. This years’ winners recognized customers who accelerated modernization initiatives and enabled innovation for enterprise-critical applications. Winners came from various industries including travel, hospitality, financial services, healthcare, education, and media and entertainment. 

Advanced NoSQL Architectures: 

The Advanced NoSQL Architecture category recognizes teams who built fast, moved faster to accommodate and even anticipate the needs of their companies, teammates, and customers to harness the power of data. 

EMEA Winner: Citigroup

Learn how Citigroup, a leading global bank with about 200 million customer accounts, architected a Market Data System (Scala, Java, TypeScript) storing billions of data points within Couchbase, scaling up to over a thousand concurrent connections within an Agile DevOps environment. 

US Winner: Cvent

Cvent is a SaaS company that specializes in meetings, events, and hospitality management technology. In moving to a microservices architecture, Cvent adopted Couchbase’s modern database to provide the high-performance, scalability and flexibility required for continuous delivery of its hybrid events application. 

Cloud Computing: 

Our Cloud Computing category celebrates customers who have unlocked increased business agility by embracing a cloud forward business strategy.  

EMEA Winner: Amadeus

Amadeus is a leading provider of travel software and solutions for the travel industry, with airlines alone using the technology to board over 1.8 billion passengers a year. Amadeus leveraged Couchbase to design a cloud-native modular platform aimed at speeding time to market and data exchange to better serve customers and partners. In their session at ConnectONLINE they talked about their experience designing a cloud-native modular platform, aimed at speed time to market and data exchange. 

US Winner: BroadJump LLC 

BroadJump focuses on assisting hospitals and health systems evolve into a dynamic sourcing model that delivers transformative improvements to current best practices of sourcing. By deploying Couchbase in the cloud, BroadJump’s development team was able to use their existing SQL skills to execute complex queries for analytics while improving query performance to gain better visibility and control over their expense management. 

Innovating at the Edge:

The Innovating at the Edge category lauds the efforts of customers for adapting to a generationally different data landscape, and creating applications that meet their end users on any device, regardless of connectivity. 

EMEA Winner: Emirates

Emirates is the largest airline and one of two carriers based out of the United Arab Emirates. Emirates optimized aircraft maintenance using Couchbase, enabling it to provide real-time data capture to multiple stakeholders and architected an end-to-end digitization of its technical logs. In their session at ConnectONLINE you’ll learn how the company reached new heights in aircraft maintenance with Couchbase

US Winner: Northwestern University 

Northwestern University is one of the leading private research and teaching universities in America, located in Evanston, IL. Northwestern University’s Catalyst Lab selected Couchbase as part of a broader tech effort to reduce chronic disease risk factors by optimizing innovative, technology-supported interventions. 

Community Architect and Innovation:  

Our Community Architectures and Innovations category salutes community members and organizations who use Couchbase to open the door of technology wider for others, and make tomorrow better than today. 

Winner: MOLO17

MOLO 17 provides data mobilization solutions and tools that act as a gateway between the legacy and closed systems to the mobile and web-oriented world, with always an offline first approach and real-time sync capabilities. MOLO17 leveraged Couchbase Mobile to achieve situational awareness by streamlining information flow, enhancing offline capabilities, facilitating near-real-time synchronization between the top floor, where the planning happens, and the shop floor, where the execution takes place.
