A Tale of Two Stays at The Kartrite
I stayed at The Kartrite resort in Monticello, NY recently with my family (4 year old son, 1 year old baby, and wife.)
A key reason we stayed at the Kartrite because the hotel is new. Built in 2019 the facilities are immaculate and modern design throughout.
First Visit
We have stayed at the Kartrite during the week during slower hours as a quick last minute getaway.
- Everything is quieter and more accessible, such as the water-park.
- Some services may not be available during quieter times, such as the buffet.
For us, not having access to the buffet decreased our enjoyment of the stay.
Second Time is a Charm?
At the same time, even though we did not have a great time during the week, we decided to stay at the Kartrite again.
Our second stay was on a weekend and it was a different experience.
- The water-park was full - finding a seat to keep your things were impossible.
- The lines for slides in the water-park were long!
- The buffet was not operating as normal, the Kartrite had a themed family event in the common area!
Luau at The Kartrite
When I booked for the weekend - I did not know the Kartrite planned a Luau theme party. I was pleasantly surprised as the party had:
- bouncy houses for the kids
- surfing simulator (think bull ride simulator but flat)
- arts and crafts for kids
- fire dancer and hula dancer show
- Hawaiian themed buffet outdoor
As a parent, this made the stay even better as I wanted to stay in the pool and eat buffet.
Instead, my son was all over the bouncy house the evening. My wife enjoyed the Hawaiian themed buffet. This visit was totally different than our first.
Family Game Plan
If you are planning a vacation with your family, The Kartrite on the weekend is a good option. A themed weekend at The Kartrite is a fantastic option!
