AWS DataSync is now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Osaka) Region. DataSync can copy data between Network File System (NFS) shares, Server Message Block (SMB) shares, self-managed object storage, AWS Snowcone, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) buckets, Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) file systems, and Amazon FSx for Windows File Server file systems.

Customers can use DataSync to migrate active datasets to AWS, archive data to free up on-premises storage capacity, replicate data to AWS for business continuity, or transfer data to the cloud for analysis and processing by leveraging available bandwidth or a virtual private network. Data in transit is encrypted and end-to-end validation is included.

With this launch, DataSync is now available in 23 AWS Regions: US East (Northern Virginia and Ohio), US West (Northern California and Oregon), Canada (Central), AWS GovCloud (US-East and US-West), South America (São Paulo), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris, Stockholm, and Milan), Middle East (Bahrain), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Osaka), and Africa (Cape Town). To learn more visit the AWS DataSync product page or try it in the AWS Console.
