Amazon CloudWatch Resource Health is a new feature that enables you to automatically discover, manage, and visualize the health and performance of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) hosts across your applications in a single view. With Resource Health, you can visualize the health of your Amazon EC2 hosts in a map (or list) view by performance dimension such as CPU or Memory, and slice and dice hundreds of hosts using tags and available filters such as instance type, instance state, and status check. This helps in reducing your Mean time to resolution (MTTR) by easily isolating EC2 hosts that are performing sub-optimally.

CloudWatch Resource Health enables you to gain visibility into the performance of a single (or a group of) EC2 host, and resources attached to the host such as Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling Groups and Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS). Resource Health provides host level metrics and logs, enabling you to view telemetry relevant to the health of your hosts and isolating performance bottlenecks in a single place.

It’s easy to get started. You can simply access Resource Health on the CloudWatch console, and use it immediately without any additional configuration. Resource Health is available at no additional charge for AWS customers, across all public AWS Regions where Amazon EC2 is available. Learn more about how to use Resource Health.
