AWS Outposts now offers a 26 TB storage tier for Amazon S3 on Outposts. This new storage tier gives you flexibility to configure 26 TB of Amazon S3 storage alongside up to 11 TB of Amazon EBS on your AWS Outposts. This adds to the 48 TB and 96 TB tiers of S3 storage currently available for S3 on Outposts.

Amazon S3 on Outposts delivers object storage to your on-premises AWS Outposts environment to meet local data processing and data residency needs. Using the S3 APIs and features, S3 on Outposts makes it easy to store, secure, tag, retrieve, report on, and control access to the data on your Outpost. AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, services, and tools to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience. This new S3 storage tier gives customers flexibility to tailor their S3 storage on Outposts to meet the demands of their workloads.

To start using S3 on Outposts, visit the AWS Outposts Management Console to order an Outposts configuration that includes your desired S3 storage capacity. You then use the AWS console or S3 SDK, or CLI to create buckets and S3 Access Points on your Outposts.

Amazon S3 on Outposts, and the new smaller storage capacity option, is available in all AWS commercial regions where AWS Outposts is available. Please refer to the AWS Outposts FAQs for S3 on Outposts availability. To learn more, visit the S3 on Outposts page, or read the documentation.
