I'm happy to announce the official Laravel Worldwide Meetup. This monthly meetup will be streamed via YouTube. The first edition will be held on 14th July at 18:00 UTC.

There is a select group of people, sometimes jokingly referred to as "The Elite" that you often see speaking at Laracons and other events. Even though you will probably see some of these fine artisans on the stream, the main goal of this meetup is to introduce new speakers to the community.

The first meetup

My first guests will be Joseph Silber and Mohammed Said. Joseph is one of the unsung heroes of the Laravel ecosystem. Though he's not that active on social networks, he contributed a lot of excellent features to the framework. Recently, he helped to add lazy collections, which is also the subject of his talk.

Mohamed needs no introduction. He started working for Laravel a couple of years ago. Mohamed has worked on both the open-source and paid parts of the Laravel ecosystem. Lately, he's been focusing on queues. In his talk, he'll show you some neat things you can do with Laravel queues.

Next editions

The second edition of the meetup will be held on Tuesday 25th August. It'll serve as a nice warm-up for Laracon Online, which will be held the following day.

I'm still looking for speakers for the August edition. A talk should be 30 minutes or less in length. The subject should be Laravel or related technology. Do you want to share your Laravel knowledge, or have built something you'd like to showcase, submit your talk idea here. First-time speakers are most welcome!

The website

Though the meetup website itself is pretty simple, I thought it would be nice to share it. You'll find the source code in this repo on GitHub. It's a simple Laravel app, no surprises there. For the admin section, Laravel Nova is used. I want to thank Dries for his help styling the site.
