Starting today, Amazon RDS for SQL Server supports SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) directly on RDS DB instances. There is no additional cost to install SSIS directly on your Amazon RDS DB instance.

If you are currently running SSIS on Amazon EC2, you can now save costs by running SSIS directly on the same RDS DB instance as your SQL Server database. With SSIS, you can extract and transform data from a wide variety of sources such as XML data files, flat files, and relational data sources, and then load the data into one or more destinations.

Learn more about how to configure SSIS in RDS from this Blog post and see the Amazon Relational Database Services User Guide for more information.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for SQL Server Pricing for pricing details and regional availability.
