The AutoResponder feature has been updated and renamed to Rule Builder as of July 2021.

Take a deep dive into the Telerik Fiddler AutoResponder feature. Find out how it works and when it's most useful for your web debugging.

Fiddler has many great features that I use daily in my role as a web developer, and one of my favorites is the AutoResponder.

This video starts by demonstrating how to save a web page and its resources locally, and then use AutoResponder to return that local copy while the origin server is unavailable.

Next, it shows how to easily modify a single response and return it to the client for subsequent requests.

The video then reviews how to cause intentional delays for responses to determine the impact it has on rendering and facilitates testing alternative coding techniques.

Finally, it demonstrates causing a failed response for a resource to ensure the web page degrades gracefully.
