I wanted to give writing regular weeknotes a go, here’s week 1:

• Kew Gardens - Last weekend I visited Kew Gardens to see the Chihuly glasswork. It was nice walking around and seeing the restored Temperate House which was being worked on last time I went. Some photos I took.
• Updating 1Password - After updating to OSX Catalina, I found I needed to upgrade from 1Password 6 to 7 and become a subscriber for the Safari extension to keep working. I thought this would mean that I could share passwords with Pauline who was already a subscriber but found out we first both have to be on the same family plan and can’t easily switch to one because one of us is paying though an App Store subscription.
• Baking - I wanted to learn some vegan bakes. On Wednesday I attempted a chocolate olive oil cake from Smitten Kitchen, but it didn’t turn out great. I used some treacle in the place of brown sugar which clumped together during baking and gave it an odd taste. I think I should have used less and mixed more thoroughly with the white sugar.
• Apple Arcade - I started the Apple Arcade free trial. It has so many well-designed games and not an in-app purchase in sight. The two games I’ve spent the most time on are Mini Motorways and Card of Darkness.
