Use AWS Systems Manager to resolve operational issues with your .NET and Microsoft SQL Server Applications

Posted on: Aug 9, 2019

AWS Systems Manager now integrates with Amazon CloudWatch Application Insights for .NET and SQL Server, enabling you to easily and quickly resolve problems impacting your application health. CloudWatch Application Insights helps you set up and analyze important monitors across your application resources to detect anomalies and errors with those resources and common application technologies such as Microsoft IIS, .NET framework and SQL Server. With the new built-in integration, you can now easily view, investigate, and resolve these problems using AWS Systems Manager OpsCenter, helping you further reduce your mean time to resolution (MTTR).

Customers use OpsCenter to centralize operational issues (OpsItems) related to their environment in a standardized view, along with contextually relevant data to help with the diagnosis and remediation. Starting today, you can additionally view the problems detected by CloudWatch Application Insights centrally in OpsCenter and associate AWS Systems Manager Automation documents for easier remediation.

With a single click in the CloudWatch console, you can easily enable OpsCenter for applications monitored using CloudWatch Application Insights for .NET and SQL Server. Once enabled, an opsItem is automatically created in OpsCenter when an issue is detected by CloudWatch Application Insights, where you can take automated actions to resolve the problem quickly. OpsCenter is priced on a pay-per-use model. Visit CloudWatch Getting Started page and Systems Manager documentation page to learn more about the capability and regional availability.
